0. The Minutes of last year's meeting (available on
the web) were accepted.
1. Held delivered a very short (in comparison with last year,
nothing really happened) of the past year.
Adi Wagner and Sylvia Koch represented Switzerland at the
world pair championships and did register one win in a
very difficult tournament.
They also organized the first Swiss Pairgo championship
in August on the Riederalp. It was a success with
6 teams of 2 and 13 participants.
Roberto Morrison was our representative at the WAGC, where
won a creditable 3 1/2 games, (He says that he almost won
4 games)
The junior championship was won by John Walch of the Nyon
club
On the positive side, there has been a large increasse
in the numbers of Juniors taking part in go
Patric Grueter will represent Switzerland at WAGC (06)
Trippel would appreciate it if the dues were paid during
the first part of the year. This would simplify the
bookkeeping considerably.
There are some outstanding debts owed to the E.G.F. for
having two of our tournaments listed as European Cup events.
Outstanding were Locarno (04) 125 Euro and Zuerich (06) 150 Euro
Zuerich said that they would pay their debt and it was
decided that the federation would pay the Locarno debt.
Over the last few years, the federation has been supporting
tournaments in the amount of 5 fr./player. I was decided
that an upper limit of 200 fr. would now be imposed, and
each club is to be entitled to that for at most one tournament
each year.
3. Adi Wagner and Silvia Koch submitted a request for financial
support (200 fr.) for a pairgo championship this year (06)
This was awarded.
They will eventually give details of time and place.
In accord with the decision taken last year, it was stated
that for future world pair championships, the team will
be made up of the female member of the winning Swiss
championship team, and a male chosen by the executive
based on work that he has done for Go in Switzerland,
Tournament calendar for next year. (07)
As usual, Bern will hold its tournament the first week end
in February.
It was agreed that because of its central location, Bern
should also host the junior championship, so this will
take place at the same time.
Lausanne 17 - 18 June
They will also consider hosting the Swiss championship
and will give their decision as soon as possible.
Other tournaments will be put on the web as soon as
their dates are set.
4, It was decided to continue the three day format for the
Swiss champship.
5. The decision last year to increase the period between
trips to the WAGC was discussed and it was agreed to continue
this policy.
6. A short discussion was had to see if we would have a
representative at the EGF meeting in Rome. There were
several possibility. A problem involving the ongoing
conferences over an international set of rules was
raised, and it was decided that Switzerland would officially
send a request to have it put on the agenda, and our
delegate will bring it up,
7. As it now stands, there will be an OZA tournament Europe
every second year. Each country is entitled to send one
representative who will have his expenses paid. The
question how to choose him was decided in the following
manner. The player who finishes highest in the Swiss
Championship will go, provided that he is NOT going to
the WAGC, If he is, then the second ranked player will
go. Note that for this tournament it is not necessary
to be a Swiss citizen, being chosen by the executive is
sufficient.
8. It was emphasized that for official tournaments in
Switzerland, all players of 5 kyu and better are to be
entered according to their EGF rating, and not according
to dans and kyus,
This is in accord with the decision taken last year.
9. Elections:
The officers elected were
President: Armel- David Wolff
Vice-President: Alan Held
Secretary Treasurer: Lorenz Trippel
10. Wolff gave a short description of polymanga
and the event which is taking place shortly
"Polymanga is a commercial event whose purpose
is to sell games, manga, animae, but which has also a
japanese cultural aspect (go, tee ceremony, origami...).
Last year, 6000 visitors went to Lausanne, many of whom
stopped into the go room. This year it will be held on
22.04 and 23.04 in palexpo Geneva (www.polymanga.com).
All clubs are invited to send a represenative to teach go"
Renner adds that a similar event takes place each
year in Winterthur:
